Founded in 1991 by CEO Franz Gmeiner, the Orion Group's property assets have grown from an initial eleven-storey office tower in downtown Johannesburg to a diversified group with assets in excess of R1 Billion (US$ 150 million) The group’s vision has been formulated as One T 50 which will eventually result in a presence in fifty countries.

The Orion Group consists of Orion Real Estate Ltd (Listed on Johannesburg stock exchange), Orion Hotels, Orion Facilities Management, Orion Business Solutions. Orion Services Division.
With a staff compliment of around 900 people the group is well placed to take advantage of business opportunities both local on also internationally.

Orion Real Estate LTD has been listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and currently owns a portfolio of commercial properties valued at over R630 million (US$ 100 million)
Orion Facilities Managment is an independent fully fledged facilities management company that performs the full spectrum of activities. Orion Facilities Managment manages investment properties on behalf of ORION REAL ESTATE LTD, a family trust and numerous individual investments.

Orion Business Solutions is a specialist human capital development company providing executive team coaching, individual executive coaching, recruitment and various training programmes including coaching training programmes.

The Orion Services division (spread over a number of entities) is involved in Hotel Management, Security services, Cleaning services, Maintenance services, Project management, Asset management and marketing.

At the cornerstone of the company's success is its people management philosophy, which is to accomplish 'extraordinary results with ordinary people'. This philosophy is underpinned by a coaching system whereby all executives are or will be qualified coaches and all line managers and supervisors will have undergone a coaching training course.
